About Me

Hi there, my name is Natalia Hos. I graduated as a designer in Russia in 2014. Since then, I’ve worked in various design fields — from furniture and wallpaper to branding — but I was always drawing “under the table,” quietly knowing I wanted something more. I had too many stories to tell, too many characters waiting to come to life. Step by step — and it was a long journey — I found my way to becoming an illustrator and author.

In 2024, I completed a Master’s degree at Sint Lucas in Antwerp. My graduation project, My Mother is a Human, was published a year later.

I’m inspired by people — by our rich, complicated inner worlds. Emotions and internal processes are recurring themes in my work. I love creating characters who are flawed, conflicted, or navigating difficult moments in their lives. I’m drawn to real emotion and to working with real, tactile materials. I enjoy feeling the texture of paper, allowing traditional media to surprise me — with an unexpected drop of ink, a paint run, or a happy accident.

I truly believe that in an era of AI, traditional craft, authenticity, and the handmade still matter deeply — maybe now more than ever.
